Abstract

244,531. Kennedy, E. N. Sept. 20, 1924. Hasp locks; sliding latches.-The latch c of a hasp lock for attachÚ and like cases is held in the usual position for latching by a projection k on a blade spring j secured at l to the casing a, the projection being moved out of the path of the bolt by the hasp pressing on a pin m extending through the lock casing, so that when the hasp enters the lock the bolt shoots forward a greater distance than the backward movement imparted to it by the hasp. The hasp will engage the latch at some distance from its end so that the end may be bevelled on all its sides to facilitate entry into the eye of the hasp. The usual keyoperated locking-mechanism for the latch may be used.
