Abstract

A dual purpose adaptor to replace an existing standard string trimmer head comprises a head piece to replace the standard head by a threaded connection and tapped screws, the head piece co-operating with an end cap by a screw threaded connection and a cutter wire to form a string trimmer head, and wherein the head piece co-operates with a rotovator head and a retaining ring by screw threaded connections to form a rotovator head, the rotovator head having four blade projections each projection having three perforations to prevent soil and small granules adhering to the projections.

Description

THE OESCRIPTION tR.r. te THE STRIMMERLAND ROTOVAR ADAPTOR.
The object is to provide a more permanent fitting which can reduce removal of semi-permanent replaceable parts of a standard strimmer, and to increase the Flexibility of a standard unit. tR.t ) To replace standard head of a strimmerLmade with a substantial material with additional fixing qualities.
The adaptor will comprise five separate parts. The head piece containing the cutting wires would be fixed with washers and nuts to the spindle of the strimmer-T ) unit. The cutting wires to be in metal rather than the less durable material at present in use.
Connection would be threaded and tap screwed to provide a more stable fixing option.
The flexibility would be provided by a separate unit (interchangeable) with a retaining ring to provide for a rotovator head for breaking up ground for planting, removal of loosened stones and similar minor obstructions.

Claims (8)

CLAIM 1 A dual purpose adaptor comprising five units to replace the standard head of a rotating machine. 2. An adaptor as in claim 1 comprising three units to be fitted to a rotating machine to cult flora and fauna including grass and bushes, trimming branches of trees. 3. An adaptor as in claim 1 and 2 comprising the remaining two units to be fitted to a rotating machine to rotovate and break up the ground, loosen stones for removal and prepare ground for planting and sowing. Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows
1. A kit of parts for a rotating machine to provide a dual function, the kit comprising a head piece adapted to replace the standard rotating head of the machine, a first set of two units which co-operate with the head piece to form a string trimmer head, and a second set of two units which co-operate with the head piece to form a rotovator head for breaking up the ground, loosening stones for removal, and preparing the ground for planting and sowing.
2. A kit of parts as claimed in claim 1 wherein the first set of two units comprises a cutter wire, and an end cap.
3. A kit of parts as claimed in claim 2 wherein the head piece and the end cap co operate by means of a screw threaded connection.
4. A kit of parts as claimed in claim 3 wherein the head piece has an external screw thread for co-operation with an internal screw thread of the end cap.
5. A kit of parts as claimed in claim 1 wherein the second set of two units comprise a rotovator head and a retaining ring.
6. A kit of parts as claimed in claim 5 wherein the rotovator head and the retaining ring co-operate with the head piece by means of a respective screw threaded connection.
7. A kit of parts as claimed in claim 6 wherein the rotovator head and the retaining ring have internal screw threads for co-operation with an external screw thread of the head piece.
8. A kit of parts adapted to replace the standard head of a rotating machine substantially as described herein and as shown in the accompanying drawings
