Abstract

Soothing-teats.- A soothing-teat comprises a teat having a beaded edge, a shield and a connecting member having a. groove below the shield to receive the edge of the teat. In the form shown in Fig. 2 the edge of the teat 1 engages a groove in the connecting member 4 below the shield 5. The parts are held together by a cap 6 having an extension 7 which screws into the member 4. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which the member 4 is provided with an extension 21 which passes through an opening in the shield where it is held by a cap 19 which may screw on to the extension 21 or be held by a cord 20. Fig. 9 shows a further modification in which the member 4 and shield 5 are held together by a tubular member 29 which passes through an opening in the extension 21 and has grooves 30 engaging with an upstanding rim 32 on the shield. Instead of the member 29 a split ring may be used. The beaded edge of the teat in all the modifications may be reinforced interiorly or exteriorly.
