Abstract

A plumbing installation and removal tool comprises a rod 1 with a metal handle 3 and cushioned sleeve 2 at one end of the rod 1 and an integrated key device on the other end. The tool aids the installation and removal of pop-up and plugged waste systems for baths, basins and bidets. Preferably the key device comprises a curved section 4 that curves towards the rod 1 from which two lugs 5 protrude that may be attached to the rod 1 by two bars 7 that protrude at fight angles from the side of the rod 1. The lugs 5 may fit recesses in the male section of a pop-up waste system. A peg 6 may protrude from the each of the bars 7 and the base of the rod 1, the pegs protruding away from the handle 3 of the rod 1. The three pegs 6 may fit between the drain spaces in the strainer of a plugged waste system. The handle 3 may be in the form of a 'T bar'.

Description

POP-UP AND PLUGGED WASTE TOOL
The invention is a hand tool for the installation or removal of 'pop-up waste and plugged waste' systems for baths, basins and bidets.
At present the installation and removal of 'pop up & 'plugged waste' is accomplished by inserting screwdrivers into the drain spaces of the waste systems, this method as well as being cumbersome can cause significant damage to the waste systems and or utilities.
The aim of this invention is to provide easy and damage free installation or removal, for two different waste systems.
Both the: 1. 'Pop-up-waste system 2. 'Plugged waste systems.' This invention consists of two lugs. The lugs fit the holes in the male section of the 'pop-up-waste', these lugs protrudes from an arc which stops the lugs from slipping out of contact, thereby ensuring a secure 'bite'. This invention is also designed with a three-pegged device, which fits between the drain spaces in the plugged waste.' The key device installation section(s) of this invention branches from a "T bar" rod. This invention will enable easy damage free installation both for the 'pop-up and plugged waste systems'.
The preferred material for this invention is metal, plastic, or a combination of these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows an isometric view of the whole tool Figure 2 shows a bottom view
As shown in figure 1, the 'pop-tip and plugged waste tool comprises a rod 1 having at the top a sleeved and a metal "T bar" as a handle 3.
At the other end of the rod is the key device with an arc 4 from which the lugs 5 protrudes. This section is used in connection with the installation/removal of the pop-up waste system.' Two of the three pegs 6 are attached to the bars 7 with the third peg 6 attached to the rod 1. These pegs are of similar dimensions and relevant to the installation /removal of the 'plugged waste system.' Figure 2, is a bottom view of the key device of the installation tool with positions of pegs 6 and bars 7 and rod 1 shown in relationship to each other.
