Abstract
That clamps via clamped connections and locking support bars to an existing universal car baby seat. The converter is equipped with: folding down lockable wheels with brakes having casters on the front wheels, and a telescopic handle capable of being locked as various angles to ensure a comfortable pushing height. The wheels and handle can be folded in so that the converter can remain attached to the seat during the seats use in a car.

DESCRIPTION BABY CAR SEAT CONVERTER This invention relates to a converting carrier for a baby car seat which converts to a pushable seat when taken out of the car, rather than a car seat that needs to be carried.
There are all sorts of car seats available for babies, but for young babies a smaller car seat is used in the early months, and these are generally carried when not being used in the car. As the baby grows so the weight of both baby and seat become increasingly heavier and can cause all sorts of back problems.
The object of this invention is to create a universally adaptable extension to an existing car seat, to allow convertion to a pushchair, for a young baby with extreme ease and without having to take the extension off each time. It can also be adapted to be an integral part of the baby car seat, so that it is never taken off, but folds up exactly like the extension.
Accordingly, this invention provides a fixed extension that fixes to an existing car seat, with an option to choose a permanently fixed variation.
It allows the parent to flip down and lock four wheels and pull up a telescopic handle through a simple function of unclamping and clamping the handle bars whilst pulling to extend to allow the carer to push the baby car seat in a similar fashion to a standard push chair. The desired angle of the the handle can also be varied due to a screw fitted clamp to any height or angle.
The two rear wheels also have a lockable breaking system, along with the two front wheels being able to rotate to allow flexibility of movement.
The car seat is supported by aluminium rods and locks in place, through clamps and straps, also the sides of the converter support and enclose the seat safely. Additionally as an integral item the converter would be permanently fixed to the car seat, as an alternative option.
The invention will also have the ability to retract the wheels and close up the telescopic function down to a size that will allow the original function of the car seat to be used with no interference of the primary function of the safety belt.
The converting extension would be made of a combination of materials predominately plastic, but including aluminium, steel and rubber.

DESCRIPTION BABY CAR SEAT CONVERTER A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1. shows a side veiw of the converting extension attached to the car seat in a folded position being used as a car seat.
Figure 2. shows a side veiw of a converting extention being used as a push chair format with the handle extended forwards (adjustable to suit desire.) to allow rear or forward facing mobility.
Figure 3. shows the converting extension in isolation as the key mechanism to convert to a push chair. (this would also have an option to be permanently attached).
Figure 4. shows the converter folded whilst the car seat is being used with the seat belt.
As shown in figurel. the converter comprises of a supporting base which clamps onto an existing car seat, along with a strap for extra security and four wheels l. which have the mechanism to fold upright. with a lockable breaking system and rotational front wheels.
The system allows the seat to sit with its base flat in a car so that the seat may be fastened with a seat belt as usual, and used safely as an original baby car seat. The telescopic handle 2. is also in the folded position.
Figure 2. shows how the wheels fold down, 1. and lock to allow some height from the ground to the bottom of the car seat, so that the car seat may roll along without it having to be carried.
At the same time a telescopic folding handle 2. may be pulled up to allow the person pushing the seat, the height to push without having to bend over and potentially damage their back. This also has a locking function and the ability to be positioned at a desired angle and height.
Figure 3 shows the entire unit in isolation to show supporting bars and wheels 1. with the handle 2. attached to the whole unit. This handle also has an adjustable tightening handle 4. to change the angle desired. The rear wheels have two individual brakes 3.
Figure 4. shows the unit in a folded position with wheels stored upright and telescopic handle folded down to allow the original function of the car seat to be used without inhibiting the seat belt.

Claims (7)
- CLAIMS 1. A baby car seat converter that clamps to an existing universal seat, with folding down wheels including brakes and rotational front wheels. With a telescopic tubular handle that can collapse down and extend up so that a baby car seat can be pushed rather than carried.
- 2. A converting extension as claimed in Claim 1 where the the extension is an integral part of the baby car seat, as a permanent option.
- 3. A converting extension as claimed in Claim 1 where the wheels fold down and lock ridgid to carry a baby car seat.
- 4. A converting extension as claimed in Claim 1 or claim 2 where the handle extends telescopically to give height from the ground, and has a locking device to set the angle of the handle, for use at standing level.
- 5. A converting extension as claimed in previous claims that re-folds to allow original function of the car seat to be used without dismantling or separating the two units.
- 6. A converting extension as claimed in previous claims, which is made from a combination of metal, aluminium, steel and plastic material and rubber.
- 7. A converting extension as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
