Abstract

A safety razor has a handle 13 that contains a supply of lubrication fluid. The fluid can be replenished by screw member 14 at the lower end of the handle. A blade 11 is located at the head of the razor and a plastic roller 10 is located on the head on the side opposite to the blade. A valve at the top of the container controls the release of lubricant onto the surface of the roller. The roller is rolled back and forth over a users skin to prepare it for shaving. Alternatively the roller may be made of a solid soap block and the lubricant may be water in which case the roller will gradually wear away with use.

Description

COMBINE SHAVER AND LUBRICANT This invention relates to a wet shaver with shaving lubricant incorporated within its design.
Wet shavers in association with lubricants ; such as shaving creams, gels, oils or soaps are renowned to give a close smooth shave. Unfortunately these lubricants are housed separately in large containers, which especially when travelling occupy a lot of space in a toiletry bag.
It is also known that most women will not carry shaving accessories with them when travelling, they invariably use a bar of soap that can dry the skin and cause scaling. The present invention will provide a shaving blade and a choice of lubricant in one compact unit, which can either be disposable or reusable.
According to the present invention there is provided a wet shaver that can house a choice of lubricant such as shaving cream, gel, oil or soap. There is a lubricant applicator in way of either a plastic or soap roller at the head of the shaver. When a soap roller is used, the head of the shaver is dipped in water then rolled backwards and forwards along the skin, giving it an even coating of soap. Through constant use the soap roller will diminish in size and eventually disappear. If an alternative lubricant is desired, the roller will be made from plastic, and will work in much the same way as a roll-on deodorant ball. The lubricant is poured into the handle via an opening, where it makes its way down the handle towards the head of the shaver. Here it clings onto the plastic roller which is rolled forwards and backwards along the skin covering the it with an even coating of lubricant. Once the desired area has been coated with the lubricant, the shaver is then tumed around with the blade facing the skin, and used in the conventional manor.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which :- Figure 1 shows in perspective, the shaver in an upright position with the side of the shaver facing towards us.
Figure 2 illustrates the rear of the shaver.
Figure 3 illustrates the front of the shaver Figure 4 illustrates the bottom view of the shaver Figure 5 illustrates the top view of the shaver Figure 6 illustrates a removable screw top at the base of the handle creating an opening for the insertion of the lubricant.
Referring to the drawing the shaver comprises of a hollow handle 13 that has the option of housing either saving cream, oil, gel or liquid soap. At the base of the handle is a removable section 14 which screws and unscrews 15 itself to the body of the shaver 13. Once unscrewed the lubricant can be poured into or out of the handle of the shaver 13.
The body of the shaver 13 has a transparent panel 12 built into its design, this is used to observe the amount of lubricant remaining in the unit.
At the head of the shaver is the roller 10 which is made from either solid soap or plastic. A roller made from soap wift be attached to the body of the shaver 13 in such a way for it to spin around when rolled backwards and forwards onto the skin. Through continuous pse, W rqller will diminish until there is nothing left, and will have to be reptr, by another one. When selecting an alternative lubricant the router will be made from plastic, it will be attached to the body of the shaver 13 in such a way for it to spin when rolled forwards and backwards along the skin. It wi ! i coat itaetf with the lubricant by means of an opening in the body of the shaver 13, where the roller fits snugly allowing direct contact with the lubricant. The plastic roller works in much the same way as a roll-on deodorant ball. A shaver with a soap roller 10 will not require the transparent panel 12 therefore it will not exist as a design feature.
The shaver will also feature a replaceable blade 11.

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS 1 A combined shaver and lubricant comprises a handle that acts as a storage compartment for a lubricating fluid. At the top end of the handle is the razor blade, and on the other side of the handle, opposite the razor blade is a roll on lubricating applicator.
  2. 2 A combined shaver and lubricant as claimed in claim 1 wherein the handle which also houses the lubricant, has within it a valve that aids some of the lubricating fluid to remain in the upper section of the razor, to allow the application roller to be covered with the lubricant at all times.
  3. 3 A combined shaver and lubricant as claimed in claim 1 and 2 wherein the lubricant applicator can be made from either solid soap or plastic. In the case of a solid soap roller, the razor has no need to house a lubricating fluid in the hand, although the lubricating compartment can be used to house water, allowing the water to coat the soap roller when in use. The opening that allows the lubricant to pass through the handle and onto the roller should be slightly different to the one designed to house any other lubricant. In order for it to work appropriately when the roller starts to diminish in size.
  4. 4 A combined shaver and lubricant as claimed in claim 3 features an opening at the bottom end of the handle that allows the lubricating fluid to pour into the handle.
  5. 5 A combined shaver and lubricant as claimed in claim 3 and 4 features a housing that allows the roller applicator to spin round. In the case of a soap roller the housing will allow the roller to continue rotating while the soap is reducing in size.
