Abstract

223,306. Osborn, H. J., and Turner, W. L. July 18, 1923. Alloys. - Electrodes are made of an alloy of iron with 10 to 15 per cent of chromium, and 0.1 to 0.5 per cent of carbon, the preferred proportions being 14 per cent of chromium and 0.15 per cent of carbon; the alloy does not occlude gas to any extent. According to the Provisional Specification the proportion of chromium may be 9 to 20 per cent.
