Description
TITLE: IMPROVED CONNECTOR FOR SCREENS
This invention relates to an improved connector for screens.
It is found that screens have widely been used in offices so as to beautify the office and enhance the employer's efficiency. However, the connection between screens is time-consuming and easily broken.
It is, therefore, an object of the present invention to provide an improved connector for screens which may obviate and mitigate the above-mentioned drawbacks.
It is the primary object of the present invention to provide an improved connector for screens which can firmly connect the screens.
It is another object of the present invention to provide an improved connector for screens which is simple in construction.
It is still another object of the present invention to provide an improved connector for screens which is facile to produce and low in cost.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide an improved connector for screens which is easy to join screens together.
The novel features which are characteristics of the invention, together with further objects and advantages thereof will be better understood from the following description considered in connection with the accompanied drawings and in which a preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated by way of example. It is to be expressly understood, however, that the drawings are for the purpose of illustration and description only and are not intended as a definition of the limits of the invention.
Figure 1 is a working view of the present invention;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a supporting leg of the present invention; and
Figures 3A-3D show the fixing members of the present invention; and
Figure 4 is a working view of the present invention.
For purposes of promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, references will now be made to the embodiment illustrated in the drawings.
Specific language will be used to describe same.
It will, nevertheless, be understood that no limitation of the scope of the invention is thereby intended, such alternations and further modifications in the illustrated device, and such further applications as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the invention relates.
With reference to the drawings and in particular to
Figure 1 thereof, the present invention mainly comprises a supporting leg 1 and fixing member 2.
As shown in Figure 2, the supporting leg 1 is provided with a screw 11 extending therethrough so that the supporting leg 1 can be adjusted in height.
On one side of the supporting leg 1 there is formed a vertical rib 12 which is separated from the supporting leg 1 by an appropriate slit 121. In use, the supporting leg 1 is mounted on the lower part of a hollow square rod 3 with the vertical rib 12 inserted therein. As can be seen in Figure 3A, after the supporting leg 1 is already mounted on the hollow square rod 3, a fixing member is engaged with the upper end of the hollow square rod 3 and fastened on the upper edge of the screens.
The fixing member 2 is formed with a plurality of leaves 21 which can be just fitted with the upper edge of adjacent screens so as to join them together thereby preventing the surface of the screens from being damaged. Further, the fixing membewr 2 can be made as those shown in Figures 3A, 3B, 3C and 3D.
Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is understood that the present disclosure is made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (6)
1. A connector for screens comprising:
a supporting leg provided with means for
adjusting the height of the supporting leg and
a substantially vertical rib at one side
thereof, said rib being separated from said
supporting leg by a slit so as to allow the
edge of a hollow rod to be clamped at one side
of a screen; and
a fixing member formed with a pluraility of
leaves and adapted to be attached to the hollow
rod, said leaves being adapted to be fixed on
the upper edge of adjacent screens thereby
joining screens together without damaging the
surface thereof.
2. A connector according to Claim 1, wherein the height-adjusting means of the supporting leg is a screw.
3. A connector according to Claim 1 or 2 wherein the hollow rod is rectangular in cross section.
4. A connector according to Claim 3 wherein the hollow rod is square in cross-section.
5. A connector according to any one of the preceding claims wherein the leaves are adapted to be fixed to the upper edge of the screen by screws.
6. A connector according to Claim 1 and substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawings.
