Abstract

Perlite spray material can be applied to almost any surface, making that surface/material non-combustible. The material is made up in varying concentrations using the following chemicals: Perlite, vermiculite, water, sodium silicate, methocel (RTM) and cement (added only when ready to use).

Description

DESCRIPTION FIRESEAL 102-1-1 FS102-l-1 is a heat/flame retardant mixture which can be produced as panelling or sprayed onto walls or be fixed to ceilings. Although referred to by it's classification number, it is also referred to as 'Thermo Panel'.
It has been tested by the International Fire Centre at Warrington and declared non-combustible, meeting BS476. It is produced as a perlite spray material having a nominal density of 2400kg/m It is made up in varying concentrations using the following chemicals: Perlite Vermiculite MCX Water Sodium Silicate Methocel
Cement (Added only when ready to use) The water, methyl and sodium silicate are mixed first for 15 minutes, then the other items are added continuing to mix.
Finally when ready to use, the cement is added. This then can be applied to any surface, board, panelling etc., making that surface or material fireproof.

  1. CLAIM
    FS102-1-i This particular chemical formulation and mixture is unique. It will fireblock almost all known substances when applied to it. It is incombustible. The patent is requested to protect the formulation and mixture.
