Abstract

226,442. Napier, M. S., and Wilkinson, G. S. June 12, 1924. Cam machanism.-In engines having the valve axes inclined to the cam shaft, the face D<2> of the cam is formed at a right angle to the valve axis as shown. Where there are four valves to a cylinder, two cam shafts, each actuating two valves, are provided. The tappet may comprise a rod extending within a bore in the end of the valve stem and formed with a disc at its outer end adapted to lie within the flanged rim of the spring abutment B<1>.
