Abstract

A football boot/training shoe, has a sole 1, an upper 2 covering the upper part of the foot and a means for securing the shoe to the foot. On the upper is situated the strip 4. This strip can be situated anywhere on the upper, coating the outside of the shoe/boot in the form of a strip or an entire coat. The strip is made of a material of high dynamic frictional coefficient in order to induce spin when it is used to kick the football, causing the football to spin. This will affect the flight of the ball, causing it to move with a curved flight path. <IMAGE>

Description

GRIP-STRIP FOOTBALL BOOT/TRAINING SHOE This invention relates to the grip-strip football boot/training shoe.
Football boots and training shoes are well known everyday articles. They are both used for playing football, although training shoes are used for various other sports and casual footwear. They comprise of a sole and an upper which covers the upper foot. They are normally fastened to the foot by laces which are situated on the top of the upper. The upper is usually made of leather but can be made of any material.
This invention refers to the upper part of the football boot/ training shoe. It requires that a part or all of the upper be coated with a thin layer of rubber-type material of a high or fairly high dynamic frictional coefficient.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the shoe/ boot from the outside; Figure 2 shows the shoe/ boot from the inside; Referring to the drawings, the shoe/ boot comprises of a normal training shoe or football boot. With a sole 1 an upper 2 and a means for securing the shoe/ boot to the foot 3. On the upper is situated the grip-strip 4 shown shaded on the drawings.
The strip-grip comprises of a thin layer of rubber-type material. This strip can be situated anywhere on the upper, coating the outside of the shoe in the form of a strip or an entire coat. The grip-strip is made of a material with a fairly high dynamic frictional coefficient in order to induce spin when it is used to kick the football, causing the football spin. This will affect the flight of the ball, causing it to move with a curved trajectory.

Claims (4)

1 The grip-strip football boot/training shoe comprising a sole, an upper, a means for securing shoe/boot to the foot and a grip-strip, being a coating of rubber-type material coating the outside of the shoe/boot in the form of a strip or an entire coat.
2 The grip-strip football boot/training shoe as claimed in claim 1 has a grip-strip with a fairly high or high dynamic frictional coefficient in order to produce spin when the ball is kicked.
3 The grip-strip football boot/training shoe as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, will give a football a curved flight path when it is kicked using the grip-strip, This is due to the spin induced by the grip-strip as it skims the football.
4 The grip-strip football boot/training shoe substantially as described herein with reference to Rigures 1-2 of the accompanying drawings.
