Abstract
A medium-pressure fast gas burner comprises an annular head 1 having a central hole, a flange 11 around the central hole and a projecting downward wall 13, and a burner body 2 having an inner tubular wall 24 and an outer tubular wall 23. The flange has several projections 14 on the bottom surface to rest on the top edge 24 of the outer tubular wall, and the projecting downward wall 13 inserts between the inner tubular wall 21 and the outer tubular wall 23 such that two annular gaps are formed between them so that the gas flowing in the burner body 2 can go up through the gaps and pass up around the inner and the outer edges of the flange 11 of the head. <IMAGE>
Description
A GAS BURNER
This invention relates to gas burners.
Conventional medium-pressure fast gas burners generally have a plurality of small holes in the burner head, for gas to flow out to be burned for cooking. The small holes can be clogged by food overflowed from a container on the burner, to provide unbalanced burning.
An object of the invention is to avoid or at least reduce this problem.
The invention provides a gas burner having a gas inlet, internal gas passage means, and gas outlet means defined between a body of the burner and a head thereof mounted on said body.
The gas outlet means may comprise outlet means defined between an inner edge portion of an annular flange of said head and an annular wall of said body.
The gas outlet means may further comprise further outlet means defined between an outer edge portion of said flange and a further annular wall of said body disposed radially outwardly of said firstmentioned annular wall.
Preferably the under side of said outer edge portion is spaced from the upper side of said further annular wall by projections provided on said underside and/or upper side to form said further outlet means.
In the embodiment of the invention described hereinafter the projections are provided on the under side of the outer edge portion of the flange.
The annular flange may be provided with a depending annular wall which is positioned between and spaced from respective facing projecting ridges of said annular walls of said body intermediate the ends thereof to provide respective gas passages on each side of said depending annular wall to said outlet means and further outlet means from a common annular gas passage defined between said annular walls of said body.
Advantageously the body is provided with circumferentially spaced-apart positioning projections on at least one of the annular walls thereof for engaging the depending annular wall of the head to provide respective predetermined spaces between said depending flange and each of said projecting ridges.
In the above-mentioned embodiment the projections are provided on the radially outer of the two annular walls of the body.
The invention also includes a medium-pressure fast gas burner comprising (a) an annular burner head having a central hole, a flange around the central hole, an annular projecting downward wall making up a
T-shaped cross-section and several projections on the bottom surface of the flange and (b) a burner body having an inner tubular vertical wall and an outer tubular vertical wall, said inner tubular wall having a peripheral projecting outer ridge at an intermediate section, said outer tubular wall having a peripheral inner projecting ridge correspondingly facing against the outer projecting ridge of the inner tubular wall, said projections of the burner head resting on the top edge of the outer tubular wall of the burner body, said projecting downward wall of the head fitting between the inner tubular wall and the outer tubular wall of the burner body, said projecting downward wall and said projecting ridges of both the inner and the outer tubular wall forming two annular gaps between such that the gas flowing in the burner body can go up through the two annular gaps passing up around the inner and the outer peripheral edge of the flange of the head.
In order that the invention may be well understood the above-mentioned embodiment, which is given by way of example only, will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a conventional gas burner;
Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of a gas burner in accordance with the present invention;
Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of 3-3 line on
Figure 4; and
Figure 4 is an elevational cross-sectional view of the gas burner showing the gas flowing therein.
Figure 1 shows the provision of a plurality of small holes in a conventional burner forming the gas outlet means thereof.
The gas burner embodying the invention is shown in Figures 2 to 4 and comprises a burner head 1 which is mounted on a burner body 2. The burner has a gas inlet, internal gas passage means, and gas outlet means defined between the body and the head.
The burner head 1 is annular and provided with a flange 11 around a central hole 12, and an annular wall 13 vertically projecting down so that a crosssectional view of the burner head is T-shaped.
Several projections 14 are provided on the bottom surface of the flange 11 and a little separated from the annular wall 13, possible to rest on the top peripheral edge 24 of the burner body 2. The central hole 12 has a little larger diameter than the outer diameter of an inner tubular wall 21 of the burner body 2 such that an annular gap is formed between the burner head 1 and the inner tubular wall 21, when the burner head 1 is placed on the burner body 2, as shown in Figure 3.
The burner body 2 has in addition to the inner tubular vertical wall 21, an outer tubular vertical wall 23, an annular projecting ridge 22 at an intermediate section of said wall 21 and an annular projecting ridge 27 on the inner surface of the wall 23 correspondingly facing against the projecting ridge 22 of the inner wall 21, and an annular gas passage 25 formed by the inner wall 21 and the outer wall 23.
The gas passage 25 communicates with a gas supply pipe 26. The outer wall 23 has several positioning projections 28 on the inner surface to contact with the vertical surface of the annular wall 13 such that the annular wall 13 can be positioned between the annular ridge 22 and the annular ridge 27, and the size of the gap 29 between said wall 13 and said ridge 22 is substantially the same as that of the gap 20 between said wall 13 and said ridge 27 so that gas can flow through said gaps 20 and 29 at the same time.
