Abstract

An eye-glass frame of clear unpigmented plastic in which a hollow duct 1 runs through the frame-front 3 and each ear-stem 2. Each duct has a duct-opening and and may have an overflow opening. Both openings may be located within a recessed-rectangle immediately below which is a dual-nippled flap that fits into the recessed-rectangle and is continuously connected to the eye-glass frame. This flap has a tab-end to allow for lifting the flap. A cylindrical water-injector of unpigmented plastic with an injector-point comprised of a manually operated open/close valve may be used to fill the ducts water-soluble pigments are provided to be mixed in the water-injector. A water-injector cap connects to the water-injector body by a bendable plastic hinge. The cap which snap-seals has a protruding rubber top that when squeezed pushes water in the water- injector through the injector-point into the ducts. The filled duct is sealed by closing the dual-nippled flap into the recessed-rectangle. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Colour-changeable eye-glass frames This invention relates to eye-glass frames.
Eye-glass frames are either made from metal or plastic and have a permanent appearance which cannot be changed.
According to the present invention there is provided colour-changeable eye-glass frames made from clear unpigmented plastic in which a hollow duct runs through each ear-stem and through the frame-front and by using a waterinjector the ducts may be filled with coloured water which is mixed in the water-injector from a variety of water soluble pigment powder colours.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows the location of ducts, filled and sealed and shows the location of the three recessed-rectangles.
Figure 2 shows the dual-nippled flap open revealing the duct-opening and the overflowopening within the recessed-rectangle.
Figure 3 shows the water-injector with its bulbed top open and attached to the waterinjector body by a bendable plastic strip.
Figure 4 shows a pigment powder container with a snap-sealable cap closed and attached to the container by a bendable plastic strip.
Referring to the drawing, in order to fill and seal the ducts (1) which run through each earstem (2) and through the frame front (3) coloured pigment powder (4) which is watersoluble, is added to water within the water-injector body (5). The water-injector cap (6) which is directly attached to the water-injector body by a bendable plastic strip (7) has fitted and sealed into its centre a soft rubber protruding top (8). With the cap snapped close onto the water-injector body the pigment powder can be brought into solution by agitation. The water-injector cap has a lift-tab (9) for easy opening.
Each duct has a duct-opening (10) and an overflow opening (11). Each pair of these openings are located within a recessed-rectangle (12) on each ear-stem and on the framefront. Beneath each recessed-rectangle and attached directly to the eye-glass frame is a bendable dual-nippled flap (13) which fits eas ily into the recessed-rectangle plugging both openings and sealing the duct. The end of the dual-nippled flap has a tab-end (14) which is provided as a puiling-point in order to re-open the flap.
The water-injector is fitted with a manually operated open/close valve called the injectorpoint (15). The injector-point fits each of the three duct-openings. With the water-injector cap closed onto the water-injector body and the injector-point inserted into the duct-opening pressure on the water-injector rubber top will move the coloured water into the duct.
The pigment powders are stored in cylindrical plastic containers (16) with snap-sealable caps (17) which are directly attached to the containers by a bendable plastic strip (18).
The cap on the pigment powder container has a lift-tab (19) for easy opening.

9. The duct-opening and the overflow opening claimed in Claim 4 are both located within a recessed-rectangle on each ear-stem and on the frame-front.
10. A dual-nippled bendable flap is positioned next to each recessed-rectangle claimed in Claim 9.
11. The dual-nippled flap claimed in Claim 10 is directly attached to the ear-stem or the frame-front.
12. The dual-nippled flap claimed in Claim 10 and 11 can easily be placed into the recessed-rectangle claimed in Claim 9 and 10 to completely seal the duct.
13. The dual-nippled flap claimed in Claim 10, 11 and 12 when fitted into the recessedrectangle claimed in Claim 9, 10 and 12 contours to the surface of the ear-stem or the frame-front except for a tab-end which sits above the surface contour and beyond the recessed-angle claimed in Claim 9, 10 and 12.
14. The tab-end claimed in Claim 13 provides an accessible pulling-point in order to lift the dual-nippled flap claimed in Claim 10, 11, 12 and 13, out of the recessed-rectangle claimed in Claim 9, 10, 12 and 13.
