Abstract

A two piece-metallic container for an electrochemical cell comprises a dual diameter can portion 12 and a cover 14 therefor. The cover fits into an appropriately formed diametered section of the can and is welded thereto. The construction is applicable to containers which do not employ a sealing gasket between the can and the cover. <IMAGE>
