Abstract

A mitred frame joint is formed from two corner pieces 4, 5 which meet mitre-joint fashion at 6 and have their opposed ends 7, 8 cut square for abutting against the square ends of frame rails 1, 2. For holding the corner pieces and rails assembled there is an L-shaped connecting element 10 whose arms are inserted along channels provided in the corner pieces and into the ends of such rails, which have corresponding channels. Screws (not shown) can be screwed through holes 12 in such connecting element from the outer edge faces of the connecting pieces and rails so as to bear against the bottoms of the said channels, the lips of the holes being widened to receive the heads of the screws. <IMAGE>
