Abstract

To align the members of a group 10, e.g. of cigarettes, during conveyance by means of carriers 18 on an endless chain conveyor 19, particularly during transfer from a turret 15 to a conveying track 20, a stop member 18 is applied to the front of each group in turn. The stop member comprises a stop plate 21 with fingers 22 which extend through slots 23 in a wall 24 of the conveying track 20. A mechanism comprises a carrier arm 25, parallel links 26 and 27, a push rod 29, and a crank 30, whereby the plate 21 is caused to rise and sink and move backwards and forwards in relation to the groups and in synchronism with their movements. <IMAGE>
