Abstract

A reciprocating piston pump, especially a fuel injection pump, has a housing (1) incorporating a cylinder block (3) defining several parallel cylinder bores (5) receiving pistons (12). A revolving cam plate (15) cooperates with one end of each of the pistons and is driven by a drive shaft (16) to which it is non-rotatably connected, whilst being axially movable with respect to the drive shaft (16). Additionally the cam plate (15) is supported flexibly against the housing or the cylinder block. <IMAGE>
