Abstract

A duo-bus, i.e. a bus having two traction motors, is provided with a diesel engine (16) and an electric motor (10) as the traction motors. The diesel engine (16) can drive the input (4) of an automatic transmission unit (3) via a clutch (17) and the electric motor (10) can drive the same input (4) via a clutch (18) and a branch transmission (5), only one of the clutches being engaged at any given time. The automatic transmission unit (3) has an hydraulic torque convertor and the transmission output drives the wheel shafts (1). <IMAGE>
