Abstract

A moulded door skin 10 of a synthetic door having a recessed portion or depressed area 15 for removably installing a replaceable panel 30 thereon. The moulded door skin 10 further has a receiving groove 17 circling the recessed portion 15 for receiving a batten 50 to secure the replaceable panel 30. Preferably the batten 50 is push-fit into position. The replaceable panel 30 can be replaced with another insert having differ­ent patterns or shapes. The door skin thickness is between 1-5mm. A protective spacer 40 may be located between the batten 50 and the skin 10 and panel 30. Also claimed is a moulded door with a recess for receiving a replaceable panel. The panel may be fibreglass resin, glass fibre reinforced gypsum or polyurethane foam amongst other listed materials.
