Abstract
In a swash-plate machine, e.g. a pump or motor, comprising a rotary cylinder block 23 connected to a drive shaft 21 by splines 22 and pistons with articulated slippers engaging a tiltable swash-plate 35 supported by trunnions 14, the trunnion axis A lies on the side of the articulation plane D away from the cylinder block and a plane E transverse to the block rotation axis at the end of cylinder block splines 22 is located such that inclination of the swash plate from zero piston stroke to maximum piston stroke causes the point of intersection L of the articulation plane with the rotation axis B to move towards the plane E. By this arrangement the distance apart of the trunnions can be reduced and the size and weight of the swash plate can be reduced without introducing unacceptable tipping moments on the cylinder block. <IMAGE>
