Abstract
A process for producing electrical steel sheets and strips, more particularly silicon steel strips, whereby the magnetic properties are substantially improved in respect of the iron losses or the hysteresis losses, without detriment to other characteristics, comprises subjecting the strip to flexure, during a plastic deformation stage at least prior to the final anneal and possibly during hot- rolling during the production of cold- rolled electrical steel strips. The strip is preferably subjected to a furnace tension of 0.75 kg/mm<2> maximum in the annealing line, and is preferably flexed under a stretching strain of 0.8 to 5.0% depending on its Si content. A flexing unit 2 is provided with at least two adjustable rolls 3 with a diameter at the most 50 times the strip 1 thickness, and the theoretical wrap angle over each of the rolls is greater than 25 DEG , preferably 40 DEG to 50 DEG . <IMAGE>
