Abstract
A block 100 is sunk to a base 90 on the sea-bed, said block having a passage 4 to be aligned with the tidal flow and which narrows to a minimum aperture 3 in the central region of the block, whereat an energy conversion unit such as a turbine 120 is mounted to be driven by the sea water accelerated through the minimum aperture in the passage. <IMAGE>
