Abstract

207,440. Tyler, R. Feb. 19, 1923. Drills and cutters.-A secondary cutter for use with twist drills and the like consists of a sleeve A, of the same external diameter as the drill, fitted on the reduced end of the drill, and having a bevelled cutting edge B slightly in advance of the point of the drill which is ground flat. The sleeve is secured bv means such as screws C and is provided with openings registering with the flutes of the drill to facilitate the escape of cuttings. In a modification, the sleeve has a serrated cutting edge.
