Abstract

207,031. Reece, S. B. Nov. 18, 1922. Tyres, non-elastic, and rims.-A road tyre is adapted for use on soft ground by fitting around its tread two or more segmental bands 4, 5 on the outer surface of which are spuds, strakes, or the like 7, and on the inner surface of which are secured wooden n blocks 9 shaped to fit on the tyre. The segments are secured together by pivoted links 11 with pins 12 adapted to enter notches 13 in the adjacent member in which they are secured by a catch 14. When not in use on the tyres, the bands 4, 5 may be carried on supporting frames and serve as mudguards.
