Abstract

191,754. Low, A. M. June 22, 1917. Sights.-A sighting-device for attachment to machine guns or ordnance consists of two telescopes adjustably secured side by side to the gun, one telescope being anastigmatic for sighting the target and the other being astigmatic for observing with distortion the bullet-holes in the target. The telescopes 1 are mounted at the front and rear in rings 2 each pair of rings being adjustable horizontally and vertically by the right and left handed screw-devices 4, 4<a>, 6, shown in Fig. 3. The socket 11 of the front support is attached to a screwed bar 12 horizontally adjustable relatively to clamps 15 by nuts 16, whilst the. corresponding socket 7 of the rear support is carried by a stem 8 passing through the spade grip.
