Ball-and-float valves.-In a ball cock having the usual lever engaging a sliding portion of the valve e through the medium of the usual crank or the like g, the lever h is fitted with a screw l or other abutment whereby, during the closing movement, additional pressure is exerted on the outer end of the valve to ensure proper closing. The valve shown is a known form having a long seat tube b and a sleeve e fitted with a facing-washer f secured by a screwed cap.
