Abstract

5593. Gray, W. H. March 5. Wick burners, solid - flame. - In a bunker head or other spout lamp, the end of the wick is secured in a carrier of semicircular crosssection but with tubular ends, and the carrier is slid into the spout so that the end of the carrier acts as the burner. A V-shaped cut-out piece c bent inwards secures the wick in the carrier. A wire handle a is soldered to the carrier and bent round to lie parallel with the spout. Access to the wick for raising or adjusting is obtained by partly withdrawing the carrier. The Provisional Specification also states that the outer end of the carrier may be flanged.
