Preparing flour and meal from special materials; processes for reduction of grain.-In a process for obtaining a whole-meal, the grain is comminuted in stages by impact against sleves, grids, &c., and is sifted after each comminution so that only insufficiently reduced particles pass to the next machine, the fine material from all the sifters being mixed with the flour leaving the last disintegrator. The beaters of the disintegrators a', a<2>, a<3>, a<4> are surrounded by sieves c', c', c<3>, c<4> of gradually decreasing mesh. The disintegrators a<1>, a', a<3> deliver their grist through conduits g<1>, g<2>, g<3> to sifters b<1>, b<2>, b<3> the tailings from which are led by conveyers h, h<1>, h<2> to the next disintegrator. The flour passing through the sifters and that from the last disintegrator a<4> is received by a conveyer j which delivers to a receptacle d.
