Abstract

Machine rests for.-Relates to rests for testing purposes, of the kind in which the rifle is not supported against recoil but is, after each shot, pushed forwards into contact with adjusted stops as described in Specification 1737/11. According to the present invention, the rifle at the front engages two parts, one above the barrel and one below. In the construction shown, the lower part consists of a conical pin 22, Fig. 1, on which rest the two legs 31, Fig. 5, of a ring 29 clamped to the rifle, and the upper consists of a plate 24 having a notch 25, Fig. 2, adapted to fit the forward edge of the backsight bed 26, Fig. 1. Both the pin 22 and the plate 24 are fixed to a vertical transverse plate 20 capable of angular and longitudinal adjustment.
