Abstract

23,391. Justice, P. M., [Henkel et Cie]. Oct. 23. Sodium and potassium silicates are obtained in powder soluble in cold water by forcing the hot thick solution (which may be prepared by heating under pressure water and the fused silicate) under high pressure through a spraying-nozzle and .allowing the spray to come into contact with cold air. The process may be assisted by blowing the spray by means of a fan delivering cold air up a wooden shaft surrounded at some distance by an envelope of sacking or the like.
