Abstract

21,471. Bannister, A. Sept. 29. Stencilling - apparatus. - Stencilling-appar a t u s for marking cattle and for other purposes comprises a container a for ink, paint, or liquid tar, &c., at the bottom of which a stencil plate c is fixed, preferably in a removable and interchangeable manner, and a piston or plunger b by which the ink &c. is f o r c e d through the stencil. The operating rod b<1> of the piston passes through a guide d<1> in the lid d, and the withdrawal of the piston b sucks back any excess of ink. Instead of using a plunger, the upper portion of the container a may be narrowed so that the paint &c. may be ejected by pressure of the finger, or by a wooden plug. A lid or cover e may be provided.
