Abstract
8454. Bomborn, B. April 7, 1909, [Convention date]. Corrugating; curving. - Rotors of the kind described in Specification 18,610/08, [Class 102, Pumps &c.], are built up of rings with curved corrugations stamped or rolled from straight metal strips, with or without side projections. The strip a is subjected to pressure and corrugated so that the corrugations are of the same depth throughout, but the outer edge b is stretched more than the inner edge c so that the ring becomes circular. A guide e on the lower die may be used to ensure a true shape. The corrugations may be of any desired shape, and may be stamped in two operations, alternate corrugations being omitted in the first operation and stamped afterwards in the second operation.
