Abstract
179,640. Gauldie, A. B., and Gauldie, K. Feb. 8, 1921. Wood fuel.-Collapsable firelighters of the type consisting of a row of sticks, alternate sticks being capable of being pulled right and left into two intersecting planes, are joined or held together by a strip or wire passing along the ends or sides of the sticks without encircling individual sticks, the sticks not being mechanically prepared for the reception of the interconnecting element. The sticks B may be joined by a thin metal strip A, preferably corrugated, driven into the ends or by a strip of metal, pasteboard, &c. tacked or spiked along the ends or sides or by a wire stapled to the sticks. Or the strip may be of porous texture such as tape and attached by adhesive. The sticks may also be bound by cord or wire passing round the firelighter as a whole. The firelighters are in general impregnated with combustible material.
