Abstract
1537243 Electro-forming iron foil ARTHUR LEE & SONS Ltd 19 March 1976 [26 March 1975] 12764/75 Heading C7B Non-uniform iron foil is made by electrodeposition on a rotating generally cylindrical cathode with a surface complementary to that of the foil required as regards its texture and/or its ability to receive a coating of foil by electrodeposition, i.e. other than uniformly metallic and/or smooth and flat, the cathode being mounted so that part of its circumference is uniformly spaced from an anode surface in an electrolyte containing ferrous ions, and subsequently stripping the deposited foil from the cathode. The cathode may be a truly cylindrical (metal) roll which has a worked and/or treated surface or upon which is fitted an appropriately worked and/or treated metal sleeve e.g. of Ti. Areas of the cathode surface may be formed of dielectric material filling voids formed therein and/or with a plurality of modules or cavities.
