Abstract

1533631 Joining cylindrical members BETTERWEAR PRODUCTS Ltd 22 Dec 1976 [8 Jan 1976] 00712/76 Heading F2M [Also in Division B4] A tubular metal mop or broom handle 1 has a groove 4, formed by deforming the metal inwardly, and is slidably received in a socket 7 in a mop or broom head 2, the wall of the socket being formed with a matching protrusion 8 projecting inwardly so that the handle 1 is received non-rotatably in the socket, a securing means, e.g. a stud 10 having a split shank 13 to give a tight fit, being inserted in corresponding apertures 5, 9 in the handle 1 and head 2 to secure them against withdrawal. A portion 11 of the pin 10 facilitates its removal manually. Alternatively, a rivet may be used as securing means.
