1529945 Separating C 8 aromatic isomers BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 18 Feb 1976 [6 March 1975] 9352/75 Heading C5E In a process for the separation of mixed C 8 aromatic isomers in the vapour phase using a bed of aluminosilicate adsorbent, the individual isomers are separated by elution with di-n butyl ether in the vapour phase. Suitable zeolites are zeolites X, Y, beta, offretite, ferrierite and mordenite, preferably exchanged with K and Ba ions. The desorption may be carried out at 100-300‹ C.
