Abstract

1515197 Axial-How fans F W HING and F W CHEW 29 Sept 1976 [31 Oct 1975] 45191/75 Heading F1C The fan blade 1 and driving motor 3 of an electric fan are contained in a grilled casing 5 comprising two identical and interchangeable halves 7. The halves are clipped together by means of projections 8. The motor casing also comprises two identical and interchangeable halves 4. A plastics vane 10 is manually adjustable for varying the speed or direction of the air-flow. One or more oscillating deflector vanes may instead be provided to effect a directionally varying distribution of air-flow, the vanes being driven via reduction gearing comprising rubber wheels or pulleys or by means of a bladed rotor driven by the air-flow. Alternatively, the fan may be oscillated or rotated by an external and separate drive arrangement.
