1511829 Piled underwater foundations TAYLOR WOODROW CONSTRUCTION Ltd 5 Feb 1976 [6 Feb 1975] 36077/77 Divided out of 1502643 Heading E1H A foundation or anchorage at the sea bed comprises a member 1 having through bores to receive a group of piles 2 each of which is attached to individual rams 4 of a piling machine 3 which is lowered so that the piles attached enter individual bores in the member. After driving the group of piles into membersecuring positions the piling machine is released from the piles and raised for attachment to a further group of piles. The operation is repeated to secure the member to the sea-bed by a plurality of groups of piles. In driving the individual piles of a group of piles, the reaction is taken by already-driven piles of that group.
