Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of crosslinked, water-insoluble, hydrophilic copolymers by copolymerisation of a hydrophilic homopolymer or copolymer with a hydrophobic macromer. These copolymers are suitable for use as hydrophilic membranes in separation methods, as wound bandages, body implants, for example artificial veins, furthermore as coatings on glass, metal, horn or ceramic, and as a support material for bioactive compounds.
