Abstract

1506777 Burners FOSTER WHEELER ENERGY CORP 23 May 1975 [5 July 1974] 22495/75 Heading F4T A burner assembly 20 for mounting on a furnace wall 10 comprises at least one burner 34 disposed in a sleeve 30, means 28 for directing primary air, and means 32 for directing secondary air, to a nozzle. A register 22 supports assembly 20 and air supply vanes 28 are pivotally mounted in the register. Primary fuel burner 34 is supplied with oil, and start-up burners 36 are supplied with gas fuel, and the secondary air passes through apertures 44 in the base of a cup-shaped insert 40. An igniter gun, and a flame detector (not shown) are provided. A plurality of swirl vanes 50 may be placed in the tertiary air passage between walls 30a and 40a of sleeve 30 and insert 40.
