Abstract

1505714 Vehicle wheel rims MICHELIN ET CIE (COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABS MICHELIN) 24 March 1975 [25 March 1974] 12167/75 Heading B7C A moulded vehicle wheel rim, formed, e.g. from a light metal alloy or synthetic resin, has reinforcing elements, extending substantially parallel to the circumferential direction, embedded in its base, the elements being resistant to tension. The elements may comprise wires, e.g. steel cords, glass fibres, carbon fibres, or elongate particles embedded in a material which will bond with the material from which the rim is moulded. In addition to the location illustrated, elements may also be embedded in at least one wall 3 and in at least one seat 4. A flat-based rim (Fig. 2, not shown) has a removable bead retaining flange (25).
