Abstract

1439884 Electric clocks VDO ADOLF SCHINDLING AG 7 Aug 1974 [23 Aug 1973] 34900/74 Heading G3T In an electric clock having a stepping motor 2 comprising a rotor 15 and a stator 10, 11 carrying a cylindrical former 13 with a coil 12 which is energized by a regular pulse train, the rotor and the clock gearing 3 are journalled in plastics movement plates 4, 5 and the plate 4 has a recess 17 for the coil and two spacer posts 23 to support the other plate 5. As described the stator parts are sintered with holes (20), Fig. 3 (not shown) to receive posts 21 formed integrally with the plate 4, the post ends 22 then being deformed to hold the stator. The latter is further located by studs 18, 19 on the plate 4 engaging the stator periphery. Screws 24 secure the plate 5 to the posts 23. A dial 6 is stuck or screwed to the plate 5 and rotor pinion 32 drives a wheel 31 and thus a seconds hand 7. Minutes and hours hands 8, 9 are driven by further gearing. An electronic circuit, e.g. with a crystal oscillator, to generate the pulse train is carried by a circuit board 1 secured to the plate 4. The coil 12 is connected to the circuit via pins 28 carried by extensions 29 of the flanges of the coil former 13.
