Abstract

1438903 Paper colouration process IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 Nov 1974 [10 Jan 1974] 01188/74 Heading D1B Coloured paper or board is produced by the following process:-(a) forming an aqueous slurry of fibres (b) separating the fibres in the form of a mat or web and (c) removing residual water to form a substantially dry paper or board; wherein the fibres are treated before, during or after any of said steps with a polyalkylene imine and at the same or different step with a reactive dyestuff. The molecular weight of the polyalkylene imine can range from 146 to 100,000, preferably 600 to 60,000 for treating the aqueous slurry of fibres and 600 to 5000 for treating the dry paper or board.
