Abstract

1436219 Knitting machines BILLI SpA 8 Aug 1973 [12 Aug 1972] 37503/73 Heading D1C A yarn guide 3 is mounted on a movable magnetic circuit component 4 remote from its pivotal axis, the component being movable between two positions where it engages stationary magnetic components 5, 6 to complete a magnetic circuit by varying the magnetic flux through these components. On non-magnetic rod 1 which carries yarn guide 3 is a permanent magnet 4 with ferromagnetic pole shoes 4N, 4S. Magnetic members 5, 6 are U-shaped and each carries a coil 7, 8 selectively energizable to attract or repel magnet 4. Two pairs of actuators A-D may control rods 1A-1D the actuators being arranged alternately on either side of pivot 2X, Fig. 3. Another type of actuator Fig. 4 comprises a ferromagnetic arm 12 pivoted to a permanent magnet 11 mounted in a ferromagnetic yoke 15 and having a transverse arcuate portion which co-operates with the arms 15A, 15B of the yoke. The free end of arm 12 carries a yarn guide 14A coils 16A, 16B are provided on arms 15A, 15B. Two actuators may be combined into a single assembly.
