Abstract
1434113 Centrifugal casting processes GOETZWERKE FRIEDRICH GOETZ AG 15 June 1973 [6 July 1972] 28667/73 Heading B3F [Also in Division C7] A cast iron material containing one or more elements or compounds which form or combine to form one or more hard phases which separate out during solidification, is centrifugally cast so that the hard phase(s) migrate towards one surface of the casting. The said hard phase(s) may consist of the carbides, nitrides or borides of Ti, V, Nb, Ta or W and may be formed by adding the requisite elements to the basic cast iron. Free graphite may also separate out during solidification. The product may be used for making cylinder liners, piston rings and sealing strips for rotary piston engines.
