1433353 Pneumatic tyres V N PRASCHIKIN L V DESIDLEI M I REKITAR V V DROZDOVA T K LARIONOV A P ARTEMJUK L I VASYAKIN and V S BULGAKOV 2 May 1973 [4 May 1972] 20803/73 Heading B7C In a pneumatic tyre having a radial carcass 4, a breaker 3, and beads each with a rubber chafer 6 on the axially outer surface terminating inwardly at the bead heel, the radial height h of each chafer 6 is 0À15-0À20 of the maximum section height H of the tyre interior. The radially outer periphery of each chafer 6 may lie axially outwardly, as shown in Fig. 1, or axially inwardly (Fig. 2, not shown) of the radially inner periphery of the adjacent sidewall covering 7 of the tyre.
