Abstract
1432604 Two-part couplings BUNKER RAMO CORP 7 May 1973 [5 May 1972] 21652/73 Heading H2E A connector comprises an insulating housing and a plurality of contacts, there being an aperture in the housing and in one of the contacts, the apertures providing access (for, for example, a test probe) to another contact. The housing 10 consists of a cavity 18 divided by a bar 19 into channels 20, 21 with cooling openings 22. The channel walls 24-27 are formed with pockets 28 in which are disposed contacts 34-37 held by barbs 39, 40, and comprising a bifurcated portion 42, a bow 43, tip 44 and coplanar ears 45, 46. Contacts 34, 35 and 36, 37 are interconnected by and are integral with respective strips 47, 50. Strip 47 has an aperture 48 aligned with an aperture 49 in the bar 19, and bridge 50 has apertures 51, (76, Fig. 8, not shown) aligned with apertures 54, 53 in a cover 33 of the housing, so that a test probe can pass through apertures 53, (76) to connect with strip 47, the aperture (76) being larger than aperture 53 so that strip 50 is not touched by the probe. Access is also possible through apertures 54, 51. A polarizing key (not shown) may be inserted in grooves 72. The cover and housing have complementary recesses (105-110) and notches (86- 88), projections (111-112) and nibs (102-104) for latching them together.
