Abstract
1428945 Sweetening composition L GIVAUDAN & CIE SA 4 Oct 1974 [5 Oct 1973] 43104/74 Heading A2B [Also in Divisions C6 and C7] A sweetening composition comprises a dihydrochalcone sweetening agent and glucono- γ-lactone, gluconic acid or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof. The dihydrochalcone is preferably of formula Ia, Ib or Ic wherein in formula Ia, R 1 is #-Neohesperidosyl, R 2 is CH 3 and R 3 is OH; in formula Ib, R 1 is #-Neohesperidosyl R 2 is H and R 3 is H; in formula Ic R 1 is #-glucosyl, R 2 is CH 3 and R 3 is OH and is used in amounts of 1 part by wt per 2-30 parts by wt of glucano-γ-lactone. The composition may be used in beverages and yoghurt.
