Abstract

1425050 Valves FLOMATIC CORP 29 May 1973 25496/73 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] In a device for freezing liquid in a pipe, refrigerant gas enters a chamber 50 via an inlet pipe in the handle of the device. The chamber 50 includes a movable valve seat 52 having a central bore in which is disposed a valve stem 54. The valve stem is longitudinally slotted at 58 and is held captive in the valve seat 52. The refrigerant gas passes through the valve stem 54 into an annular chamber 36 about the pipe. Upon rotation of the handle 42, the seat 52 moves near to or away from the pipe, thus controlling the flow of gas.
