Abstract

1421740 Insecticidal composition BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 18 Oct 1973 [27 Oct 1972] 49574/72 Heading A5E Systemic insecticidal compositions comprise a systemic insecticide and a mineral oil having a viscosity of 1 to 50 centistokes at 210‹F, in a proportion of 0.1 to 100 grams of the insecticide per litre of oil. The oil has a synergistic effect with systemic insecticides. The insecticide may be dimethyl S-(N-methyl carbamoyl methyl) phosphorothiolothionate, methyl [S-2-(ethylthio) ethyl dimethyl phosphorothiolate + 2-(ethylthio) ethyl dimethyl phosphorothionate] or dimethyl S-{N-ethyl carbamoyl ethyl) phosphorothiolothionate. The presence of insects on growing plants is reduced by spraying the plants with the compositions, or they may be emulsified in water and used for spraying plants.
